MODERN DAY MOTO RENAISSANCE...
Today, Italy boasts the world's fifth largest economy and is the second
largest producer of motorcycles, just behind Japan. After emerging beaten
and battered, both financially and physically, following WWII, Italy has
rebounded and rebuilt itself into one of the world's most prominent countries.
The Italian motorcycle industry, aside from a hiccup or two here and there,
has followed suit. Piaggio is now the third largest motorcycle company
in the world and there isn't a road racer alive who is more popular than
Italy's Valentino Rossi.

Even some of the names that looked to be all but gone are experiencing
a rebirth of sorts, as companies like Benelli, Mondial and MV Agusta strive
to once again break into the market by offering up models that exemplify
the country's reputation for cutting-edge, crowd-pleasing machines.
The state of the motorcycle after market is of particular interest to
Italy considering it is the leading manufacturer of motorcycle parts,
accessories and apparel in the world.

The same innovation and technology that goes into
the motorcycles is used to outfit both bike and rider. Millions of enthusiasts
all over the world count on the country's goods for a safe, and stylish,
journey, some of them without even knowing it.
Even much of the low-end merchandise made in other parts of the world
gets its inspiration from Italian-made goods. The country is truly a leader
in the sport.

As such, all eyes look to Italy each and every year for the latest trends
in the motorcycle market. The country that has grown accustomed to setting
them is not about to stop now or anytime soon. There is still motorcycling
history to be made, and Italy figures to be a major player when it comes
to making it now and in the future.
